The death of a loved one can be a big change for children. This supportive 4 week group helps children explore their feelings, build coping skills, and connect with others who may be experiencing grief and loss.
Caregivers are encouraged to attend a virtual presentation on November 17th to gain insight on how children experience grief and what caregivers can do to offer support.
Through play, conversation, and guided activities, children will:
– Understand that grief can look and feel different for everyone.
– Explore healthy ways to express and cope with big feelings related to grief.
– Build connections with peers who understand the experience of loss.
– Foster resilience by building on existing strengths and identifying sources of support
Sending a referral to a group does not guarantee you a spot in the group. You can expect to receive a call from our Access and System Navigation Team within 10 days of receiving the referral. They will complete an assessment to determine if the group supports your identified goals. If the group is not suitable, they will offer recommendations for alternate groups and/or services that could better support your identified goals.
Referral windows may close earlier than posted if the group fills up before that date. Please check if the group is still accepting referrals before sending.
